Not My Friend Anymore

It’s official.  My personal computer is fOOked!  I can thank Hubby’s “friend” for that.  I came home to find it crawling with viruses after his friend decided to install stuff on my computer.  I’ve locked all his friends out of my computers before, and it looks like I’m going to have to start making sure to lock them out again.

I uninstalled 2 different virtual strippers, a ton of porn type screensavers, and now I’m working on the rest.  Actually I’ve been working on a cleanup for about 5 hours now, and I still have a ton more to go.  Yes I could reformat, but that would mean taking my new 500gb hard drive out of my new business computer I’m building (it’s waiting on a PSU), installing it in Hubby’s computer (since my other one is outdated and no SATA), and then transferring everything over.   That’s really a last resort for now.

So Hubby’s friends do you hear me?  Go to your own house and screw up your own computers!  Leave mine alone!

Oh, and on top of that one of his so called friends has been stealing shit from me!

A couple weeks ago my SD card from my camera up and vanished.  I know I didn’t lose it.  The card stays in my camera unless I’m transferring photos to the pc.  As soon as I’m done I take it right back out of the card reader, and I always stick it right back in my camera.  I grabbed a couple pics I needed, stuck it back in my camera, took about 5 pictures, and set my camera down.

A couple hours later I went to take more pictures and got the “internal memory full” message.  I checked my storage settings to make sure they were setup for the card.  Then I flipped open the card slot only to find no card in the camera.  Considering there was only 1 person at our house around that time, I know who it was.

That same person crashed here last week.  When he left the next day I felt like something was “off”.  I couldn’t pinpoint it.  I went about my business doing my chores, and when I opened the dishwasher I knew what was wrong.  Yes I smoke, not going to lie about that (we won’t discuss that right now), and I had ran my ashtrays through the dishwasher…all but one of them.  When I opened the dishwasher they were all gone!  He stole my freakin’ ashtrays…all except the one I had on my desk in use.

So then I go to my desk to make sure that ashtray is still there.  It is, but I notice something else that’s weird.  There’s a stack of blank CDs laying on the desk.  I never leave blank cds laying around.  They’re always on the spindle waiting to be used.  The spindle is always sitting on my desk on the bottom shelf next to my stack of empty CD cases, but it wasn’t there.

I just bought this 50 ct spindle a couple weeks ago, and I’ve only used about 4 cds out of it.  I went searching for it, and I finally found it shoved back behind a monitor that I don’t use anymore on another desk in another room.  It had definitely been hidden back there.  Including the stack of blanks that were laying on my desk, there are a total of 26 blank cds left on the spindle!

Not only has he been jacking my blank cds, but he apparently was planning to jack another stack but accidentally left them laying on my desk…BUSTED.   I know Hubby didn’t leave them there.  He doesn’t even know how to burn a cd.  He says that’s what he’s got me for ;-) .  I started looking around to see if anything else was missing.  I had just rolled a bunch of quarters the night before, and since it was late I left about $30 worth of rolls laying on my desk.  Those were gone, too.

What pisses me off is I’ve known this guy pretty much my entire life.  I introduced him to Hubby.  He’s always been a great friend to both of us, not fucked up on a ton of drugs like all the guys Hubby knew when we met.  This guy house sits for us, takes care of the pets when we go away, and in the past 5 years has been a constant person here on the weekends.  So, WTF is he stealing from me now?

Hubby changed the locks on the front door today because this guy is our “it” guy.  He’s the person that has our backup key that we call if we get locked out.  He’s always been welcome in our home, and he’s always been a good guy who has never given us a reason to  think otherwise.  WTF is wrong with him?

He’s definitely not welcome in my house anymore.  I did confront him about it, and his reaction was to act like someone else did it.  I knew better because he is the person that has been here at the times stuff has disappeared.  Plus he didn’t even bring up the possibility of me losing said items.  He was just all like “Oh it wasn’t me, maybe it was XXXXX or XXXX.  No I definitely didn’t go it.  Did you talk to XXXX?”  He kept stuttering, too.

Hubby wanted a chance to talk to him, too, so he went by his house today.  They were sitting on the balcony, and dude walked inside to get an ashtray.  Hubby said when he came walking out he had in his hands an ashtray that is definitely one of the ones we’re missing.  I had this very distinct purple ashtray.  It’s a very unique ashtray that’s purple with a big chip missing out of it.  I bought it at a yard sale a few years ago for nearly nothing, and it’s the one that normally sits on my desk except for the day they all disappeared.  Dude walked out with my purple ashtray.  Hubby was like wtf, how stupid can you be?  You take my shit, then you pull it out right in front of me?

Dude was basically like I don’t know what you’re talking about.  My mom bought this for me last weekend at the beach.   Hubby basically told him he doesn’t want to see or hear from him again…and to tell his mom if she’s going to buy him shit make sure it isn’t broken first ;-) .

I don’t care how big or small the items are someone takes from me.  Stealing is stealing, and I don’t condone that shit.  I sure as hell don’t want someone like that around my house.

I just don’t get it.  How the hell can someone you’ve known your whole life just turn into someone so different all of a sudden?
