Preventing Junk Mail With ProQuo

Whether it be in my inbox or in my plain old on the street mailbox, I’ve been dealing with a lot of extra junk mail lately. I’ve been trying to take precautions to stop the paper mail, but no matter how many times I call that number listed on the back of credit card offers, the junk doesn’t seem to stop rolling in.

Not only is all this paper junk mail a big waste in terms of our environment, but it’s a pesky little problem to deal with. On top of that, it can be dangerous. Do you know how easy it is for someone to snatch a credit card offer from your mailbox, fill it out, and receive a card in your name? If you’re not home everyday when the mail arrives it’s super simple. All they have to do is wait for the mail person to deliver, and they can check the mail until the new card arrives.

But wouldn’t it be nice if we could stop the junk mail all together? My friend Kim told me about a very handy site that helps you do just that. This will probably be one of many handy sites you’ll hear about that Kim has shared with me with week, but it’s definitely worth passing on.

ProQuo.com

The site is ProQuo and signing up for a free account helps you opt out of junk mail by removing your name and information from tons of mailing lists and online mailing databases.

You could also do this by searching for the mailing lists yourself, but that takes time and effort that a lot of us just don’t want to spend. ProQuo makes it easy by giving you the resources to do this in one easy place!
