Washing It All Again

Bless my poor little Grandpa, but I could totally strangle him right now. He’s walked down here 4 times already today, and twice while I was outside hanging out laundry. He sees all my freshly washed laundry drying on the line, so what does he do?

He decides to cut grass!

He keeps his lawn mowers in the garage down here, so when I heard the lawn mower crank up I figured he was riding it back to their house to cut grass up there. When the sound didn’t go away after a couple minutes I walked outside to investigate, and there he is cutting the grass right under my clothesline!

I’m sure my Grandma has been driving him crazy this morning about cutting the grass. She’s really anal about stuff like that, but really, did he have to start on that side of the yard? It’s not like we don’t have another 5 acres of grass between the two houses for him to cut Wouldn’t it have made more sense to start at his house and work his way back since he’s going to have to put the mower back in the garage down here anyway?

You’re probably sitting there thinking why the hell is she even complaining about it? Her poor old Grandpa is cutting her grass for her.

It’s not because I want him to cut it for us. Right after we moved in here hubby and I invested in our very first riding mower. Hubby loves mowing grass, and before we had an apartment. He was excited to get his mower, but that lasted all of 2 months. My Grandpa would race to get the grass cut before Hubby could come home to cut it. I finally asked my Grandpa why he had such a problem with us cutting on our grass, and he confessed to me that it’s his time to get out of the house and away from my OCD Grandma for awhile. It’s his sanctuary in a way.

I just still think he should have started on the other side of our 2 yards. I mean come on! Now I’ve got to wash all those clothes (and my 1 solid white comforter) again.
