A Medical Watch For Sis In Law
Welcome to The Ramblings of Jenn Shuey! If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!
I’ve been wanting to buy my sister in law one of those medical id tags for awhile, but so far I haven’t found one I thought she’d wear. She already has a medical card she carries in her purse, but I’ve seen EMS show up too many times without even thinking to ask for the card. She’s a critical diabetic, and many many times I’ve gotten there only to find them treating her like she’s an underage patient because they didn’t even think to check her id for her age. Half the time they don’t even know she had a medical card telling what she’s allergic to and all that.
Now I think I might have found her some medical id jewelry that she might wear. I really like a medical id watch that I found, and I know my sister in law can’t go anywhere without a watch. I found a ton of them on jewelryelegance.com, but I think this is the one she would like the most.

Newer Is Not Always Better
Did you upgrade to Firefox 3 yesterday? I did, and I quickly reverted back. Why? Firefox 3 was just way too buggy for my tastes right now. To me it really didn’t seem like it was ready to be released. In fact Mozilla missed the 10am PST release because it wasn’t ready to be released yet!
When I first installed I had major problems. I had to go through multiple reboots and reinstalls before I could even get Firefox to load. Once I finally got it loading I had no internet connection. After 30 minutes of working with it I finally got my internet back only to have many other problems. The load times were tremendously slow…way too slow for my tastes. Of course none of my add-ons worked as is usual with any new release, so I was dealing with pop-ups and ads for things like Chicago travel while attempting to get just one or two websites to load.
You know newer is not always better. I prefer the older versions of tons of software, and I think I’ll be sticking with Firefox 2 for now. If you prefer older versions like I do maybe you should check out OldVersion.com. It’s my one stop when I need to download a ton of software for a new computer or I need to grab an older version of a certain program.

I Shopped For Makeup
I’ve been trying to slow down on my purchases for myself here lately for the simple fact that I know it’s going to get tight around here if gas keeps going up (which we all know it is). I already have one savings account I’ve been shoving a little cash into when I have the extra funds to do so, but it’s just about drained dry right now thanks to all the repairs on the bike.
I tried to be a good girl. I really did. I started another savings account a couple days ago. I dropped a total lump some of $3 in it to open it! I know it’s pitiful, but this savings account is supposed to be my fun money savings while my other account is going to be our emergency fund. I had planned to throw another $25 in it yesterday, but things didn’t work out as planned.
I was a very bad girl, and I went shopping…online that is.
I couldn’t help it. Kat reminded me that I’ve been wanting to try E.L.F.’s version of the mineral makeup. She posted some super awesome coupon codes (you can find here), so I had to take advantage of them! I already totally love E.L.F. (eyes, lips, and face) makeup because it’s super cheap. Everything (except the mineral makeup and kits) is $1! Seriously!
Don’t be fooled by the price either. The makeup is great! I was first introduced to it when I went on a shopping spree at Big Lots…yes the place where I can walk out with a buggy full of stuff for $30. Big Lots normally has the full E.L.F. line, and they mark everything down so much that I can grab a couple lip glosses and eye shadows for .25 each. I started ordering from the E.L.F. website when driving to town just to pick up a couple things just because they’re super cheap didn’t fit in with saving gas.
The eyeshadows last all day for me, and I’ve been using one of the All Over Cover Sticks as my foundation on dry skin days for a couple months now. My skin can change drastically from day to day, and the cover sticks are kind of oily. It feels icky on days my skin is oily, but it’s great for normal and dry days.
I went ahead and placed 2 orders yesterday. Why 2? First I added a bunch of stuff to my cart, added my coupon codes, and decided I didn’t want to buy so much right now if I only get 50% off the first $15 worth. I submitted that order, then I thought wait a second. I do want this, oooh and I want this, too!
I already knew the coupon codes work for each order right now, so I submitted a second order for the stuff I removed from my cart earlier. I got everything I wanted plus a few other stuff I decided I couldn’t live without, and I ended up saving another $14.45 on the 2nd order, too. I spent a combined total of $24, and I saved a combined total of a little over $28. Can’t really beat that can you?
