I’ll Stick To My Jeans

My younger sister-in-law started texting me photos like crazy. She went shopping today with one of her friends, and they found a ton of new school clothes. She had to model them and take photos, so now I’m the lucky recipient of all her photos. I guess she wants to show them off, and I’m the only person she can text who isn’t living in her household.

She picked up a ton of pants that i just don’t like. They look like something you would see in an equestrian clothing store. Just think of the breeches with the leather or suede panels on the inside of the highs. They are great for riding horses, and I fully see the benefit.

I just don’t understand how something like that can be “in style” for a teenager to wear to school. To me it looks out of place. Oh well, I guess if she likes it that’s what matters. I just couldn’t see myself wearing something like that except for when I’m wearing my leathers on the bike. Yeah they’ve got panels built in like that, too, but they serve a purpose. I’d look really silly wearing my leathers as everyday apparel.

Oh Nos The Power Goes!

I decided to take a break from sorting scrap kits. I did a little shopping, bought a few things I’ve really wanted. Then I headed over to Amazon to see if they had the steam mop I want any cheaper than Target. They didn’t. I took a look at some cute baby bedding that I love even though I don’t have a need for it. I especially love the Star Baby set since I’m all about celestial stuff. My time clock is ticking away doing a number on me tonight screaming baby please!

I got fed up with looking at all the stuff I’d love to buy for my babies if I had any, so I loaded up Yahoo Games, and after 5 minutes of the typical problems I finally made it into a game of Towers. I played 2 rounds and lost big time. On the third game I got in my groove. I was kicking major towers butt, and then it happened.

The lights blinked and both computers start rebooting. Stupid power company. Our lights have flickered every night for the past couple weeks, and the power company can’t give us an explanation. It’s not like it’s a little flicker. My pc’s can handle that. It’s not enough to completely shut everything off for a second, but it’s enough to cause my computers to feel the need for a reboot. I think I shall call and complain again.

Steam Mopping

Before we headed to the party yesterday, we did do a little shopping. Hubby waited until the last minute to inform me he basically had nothing to wear. He ripped a huge hole in his favorite pair of shorts, and the only other pair he has that still fit are missing a button.

We made a trip to Burke’s to pick up some shorts for him. Then we headed out on a search for a tool we’re needing for the bike. We ended up at Big Lots, so I took the time to stock up on some cheap cleaning supplies. I also checked out their selection of vacuum cleaners. We don’t have any carpet in our house, but I’d still like to have a vacuum. I’m tired of taking down my curtains every couple weeks to wash them because I don’t have a way to zap them with the vacuum like I used to do.

I was actually hoping they had a steam mop because that’s what I really want, but I was out of luck there. A steam mop would be so great in this house because our entire house is floored in linoleum, and I’ve been watching all the late night infomercials for steam mops when I can’t sleep. I’m always trying to find some kind of natural cleaning method for all my household cleaning because of the pets. I normally clean the floors with either an all natural pet safe cleaner I have or a solution of vinegar and water, but Hubby HATES the smell of vinegar. I can’t clean the floors when he’s home or it makes him sick to his stomach.

Target has the Lysol Steam Mop for about $40, so I’m thinking of picking that one up next time I got to Anderson. I’m not making a special trip and wasting gas just to get the mop, so I’m going to keep looking around here to see what I can find. Otherwise I’ll be spending $80-$100 on a better model.

So, anyone else using a steam mop? Tell me how it’s cleaning your floors.

Trying Not To Spend

Good morning everyone. I should be running my legs off getting a ton of things done today, but there’s a Woot Off going on. It’s hard to stay away from the computer during a Woot Off because I don’t know what I’m going to find that I want. Then again I do have 4 mp3 players that I hardly use lying around…maybe I should stop myself while I’m ahead :-p.

I do have to go shopping later today with my sister. Her niece is having a birthday next week, and she’s been debating on what to buy her. I mentioned swing sets, so we’re going to go check out a few today. My sis just picked up a part time 2nd job at a superstore, so we’re hoping she can get one for a decent price with her discount. I’m still going to check around though. I don’t want her spending more just because she gets 10% off of a higher price.
