Fussy Bottom

Oh what a day today has been, and it’s only noon!  The little one is in a super cranky mood today.  I have a feeling she’s about to pop through the tooth that’s been bothering her for a week now.  Nothing I’ve done has consoled her today.   Now that she’s stopped fighting sleep hopefully her nap will put her in a much better mood.

Now if I could just get these horrible cramps I’ve been having all day to go away I’d be in a good mood.  I’ve considered myself very lucky over the last 8 months as I haven’t had to deal with Aunt Flo visiting me monthly, but now she’s back with a vengeance.  I’m going to have to kick her to the curb with some Advil, so I can get myself back in working order.

While she’s sleeping I’ve got a ton of stuff to get done since I don’t know how much time I’ll have later this evening.  I just took a break from putting away laundry to have a quick bite to eat,  then I’ve got to get my butt to work.  Hopefully Ellie will sleep long enough to let me get it all done, but I’m also hoping she’ll be awake by the time my sister gets here.

She’s coming over to show me the new exhaust system her Hubby had installed on her Rodeo before he left to work out of town again.  She’s super excited about it, and I’m super excited to see my little nephew.  I’m a little jealous as well as I’ve been wanting to upgrade the exhaust system on the Blazer as well.  We just don’t have the cash right now to drop on a purchase like that.  I’m hoping we can afford to do that, add a billet grill, and buy a lowering kit once we get the Blazer paid off.  I’m pretty sure it’ll be more than feasible then as the bike and Blazer will both be paid off right about the same time.  That will loosen up a lot of funds, half of which will be going straight into Ellie’s college fund.

Anywho, now that my turkey sandwich has made it from my plate to my tummy I need to stop rambling and get my butt to work.  Cross your fingers and wish for a happy baby when she wakes up!

Changing Things Up

You’ve probably noticed by now I’ve been messing around with my theme here on Jenn Shuey for a couple of days.  When I upgraded to Wordpress 3.0 I decided it was definitely time to update the blog theme as well.  The only problem is I can’t find one I actually like enough to want to use and/or tweak to my liking.  The ones I’ve found that I actually like have all had major problems working with 3.0, and I just don’t have the time right now to go through each one with a fine tooth comb until I figure out how to make it work.

So, it’s back to searching for me.  I’ve put up a generic theme that I can live with until I decide on something I really like, but you may see my theme changing quite a few times until I settle on one.  I’m going to take a few minutes to check out the latest sears coupons on Ebillme.com. I love shopping through Ebillme because I love how secure it is. I don’t have to pay with a credit card online at the time of purchase. Instead I can make a purchase, receive a bill by email, and pay that bill with cash at my bank. It makes shopping online so much more secure!

Anywho, I’ll be right back to searching for a theme I like as soon as I check out the newest coupons. Hopefully I’ll find one I can stick with soon!

I’m Loving It!

I can’t believe how much I got done today!  Hubby came home right as I began my second round of power cleaning, and he helped me get a lot done before we picked up the baby.  He dusted all the stuff short little ‘ole me can’t reach, and he washed down the top half of the walls in the kitchen, dining room, and living room.  We pretty much tackled one half of the house today, and I managed to clean out all but one of the closets.

My steam mop showed up while we were cleaning, but I didn’t get to use it until after Elliana went to bed tonight.  Boy do I love this thing!  I’ll write a full review up for it later, but after 1 use I am sold!  My floors look cleaner than they ever have, and that’s saying a lot.  We were going to replace the 30+ year old linoleum with hardwood floors, but some stuff arose that probably won’t allow us to do the entire house right now.  That’s ok because after using this thing I think I can live with these old floors a little longer.

There were some really gross spots around the stove, washer and dryer, and fridge that I’ve been trying to hand scrub clean since the day we moved in 6 years ago with no luck.  The Haan had those spots super clean in minutes!  I’ve always hated walking across our floors because they still felt gritty and nasty no matter how many times I mopped.  I cleaned the kitchen, dining room, and bathroom floors tonight, and they feel so nice under bare feet.  No more grimy feeling, and the floors were so nice and warm after mopping!  While I was mopping I could here the floors making a squeaky “vigrx” kind of sound, and that made me feel like they were getting super clean…you know that whole “squeaky clean” thing.

Yep, I’m definitely in love with my new toy, and now I’m going to feel so much better about letting Elliana crawl and walk on these old floors.  I love even more the fact that I’m not using cleaning agents that could harm her.

Tomorrow morning I’m going to put her down for her nap in the pack n play so I can do the floor in the nursery while she sleeps.  I’ll probably break out the carpet tray and do her rug, too, since it takes up 3/4 of the floor space in her room.  It’s been a long time since I’ve been this happy about cleaning lol.

Dodging Drivers & Christmas Came Early

After seeing how horrible traffic was tonight I’m scared to see how bad things are going to be on Black Friday.  It was a mad house out there tonight, and now I’m definitely not heading out into that madness on Friday.  I’ll stay at home and shop online!

Everything around town was madness.  We tried to do a little shopping tonight to pick up a few essential things we forgot to grab at the grocery store the other day, but it was nearly impossible to get in anywhere for all the people.  Then on the way home we were dodging crazy drivers left and right.

Apparently a ton of people seem to be having car trouble this weekend, too, because I can’t count on one hand the number of cars I saw parked on the side of the road this evening.  Apparently no one around here seems to have roadside assistance plans. Maybe it’s because our unemployment rates are still so high no one can afford it, so they have to leave their cars parked all over the place because they can’t afford to get them home.

Anywho when we got home I did some online shopping, and I took advantage of some of the deals that are already going on online.  I finally picked up my netbook.  I got myself an Asus Eee PC 1005 Netbook.  I’ve been wanting one of these for awhile, so with Hubby’s approval I treated myself to a late birthday/early Christmas present.  I think he only agreed because I agreed to let him pick up the home theater system he’s been eyeing as long as he grabs it on Black Friday when it’s on sale.  At least both of them are items we’ll get a ton of use out of even if they are a bit of a splurge.  We figure with the baby these are some of the last big purchases we’ll be making for awhile, so we might as well enjoy it while we can!
