I’m finally home after running around doing some errands this evening and waiting forever to pickup Ellie’s Zyrtec prescription. I spent 45 minutes browsing the store looking through all the baby stuff, as seen on tv section, Bluetooth headsets, and everything else under the sun waiting on a refill I called in this morning to be ready for pickup at 8pm.

When she originally got the prescription the doctor called it in at our local CVS. She used CVS because we live a county over from the doctor, and she picked the one pharmacy that showed up in our zip code. That was in April, and since Ellie only uses Zyrtec seasonally I haven’t had to refill the prescription until now.

That hasn’t stopped CVS from being a pain, though. When I picked up the first prescription I flat out told them I did NOT want auto refill. That’s because after Ellie’s birth I had been on 11 pills a day because of my preeclampsia not going away immediately, and I had a ton of problems with CVS because of it. I only needed the medication for 1 month, and I came off it after 28 days. My doctor had prescribed 3 refills in case my blood pressure didn’t straighten out in one month, so I went through months and months of CVS calling me multiple times a day every month to remind me to pick up my prescription they had auto refilled (without my consent) even though I had told them I no longer used it. They finally stopped calling about that one about 2 months ago…9 months after I stopped taking it.

When I went on my new birth control after having Ellie I dropped the prescription off at CVS one day when I was in a hurry and didn’t have time to run it all the way to Walgreens in the next town over. A week before I ran out of birth control pills I tried to get the refill, and I was told I couldn’t because it was listed as something that could not be refilled until 30 days had passed since my last fill date. That would have left me without birth control for at least 1 day, longer if I forgot to refill it. I decided to switch my prescription to Walgreens, and I yet again had problems. CVS refused to transfer the prescription because they said it was already refilled via auto refill even though I wasn’t allowed to pick it up for another week!

I argued back and forth with them for a few days, demanded they take it off auto refill since I’d requested not to have it auto refilled in the first place, and picked my prescription up the day they finally released it to me. I immediately switched my prescription to Walgreens. Even though I transferred that prescription in January CVS still calls me monthly with a courtesy reminder to refill my prescription. I guess they never removed it from their computer after the transfer, and they keep calling even though I keep telling them it was transferred to another store and to leave me alone!

So yeah, I wasn’t happy when Ellie’s doctor used CVS to call in her prescription, but it was done before I had a chance to choose another pharmacy.

I got the prescription with the intentions of transferring it, but I forgot about it since I haven’t had to refill it in months. I remembered it last night when Ellie woke up sounding like she had a frog in her throat, but I couldn’t give her any medicine because she’d just ran out. I tried to transfer the prescription online and have it refilled at Walgreens, but the CVS website kept giving me an error message. I got the same error when I tried to put the refill in online. This morning I stupidly just called in the refill because I knew I’d be going to the grocery store across from CVS, and I didn’t want to make a trip all the way to Walgreens to pick it up. I figured I’d get the refill then transfer it tonight when I got home.

Mind you, like I said, I called in the prescription in around 9am this morning and set the pickup time for 8pm. I ran my errands, bought my groceries, and headed across the street to CVS thinking it’d be okay to leave cold groceries in the car as I just had to run in and pick up the prescription. When I told the pharmacist the name she looked in the computer, asked me to spell it twice, then asked if I had dropped off a prescription. I explained THREE TIMES that I called it in this morning, it was a refill, and the pickup time was for 8pm. She had me spell the name two more times, first and last, called over two more people to help her, and then asked me if Ellie had ever had a prescription filled there before.

I gave her an “are you stupid?” look and repeated “It is a REFILL for a prescription originally filled at THIS CVS. I called it in at 9am this morning!” I had the bottle from the previous prescription in my purse, and I even pulled it out to show her. After another 5 minutes or so of repeating myself over and over she finally found it, explained they had Ellie’s birthday listed as Oct 2010 instead of Oct 2009 (filling prescriptions for babies not even born yet, eh?), and told me it would be just a few minutes before it would be ready. That still doesn’t explain why it wasn’t filled yet. It had correctly entered the computer as a refill this morning. 45 minutes later it was finally ready. Thank goodness Hubby was sitting in the car with the AC running or my groceries would have been ruined.

I am 100% completely done with CVS. I made sure she fixed the date in the computer, and as soon as I got home I transferred the prescription to Walgreens. I’ll go out of my way next time to pick it up because it’s way less hassle than dealing with CVS. How much do you want to bet they’ll still call me over and over every month telling me I need to refill it?

Why is it every single time I write a post that even so much as mentions diet pills you have to flood me with spam comments about other thermogenic fat burners? As you can see I am purposely linking to a website that is NOT yours because you get no link love from me. As my commenting policy states you don’t even get the pleasure of seeing your gazillions (okay not quite, but it feels like it) of comments posted. As with most other sites you spam, you’re wasting your time and mine.

I hate to break it to ya, but why would I, or anyone else for that matter, want to purchase a product from a company that has such poor business ethics that they spam the crap out of people just to sell something. I’m guessing you don’t sell very much, do ya?

Wow. I can finally say today has been a nice normal day except for the fact the dog is sick and has puked in every room of the house. Poor guy’s stomach is all messed up, but it’s not something new that worries me. He’s got some serious allergies, and when his allergies flair up so does his stomach. I called the vet to double check, then I gave him his usual dose of Benadryl. He’s not running a fever, so we’re not going to give him anything else unless we have to.

Now if my phone would stop ringing I’d probably be able to lay down for a nap, but I’ve gotten 4 calls today from a company trying to sell us Medicare supplement insurance. That’s all fine and dandy, but I don’t need it because I’m not with medicare. I applied for medicaid since we don’t have insurance to cover the pregnancy, but other than that we don’t have anything to do with medicare.

I have a feeling it’s probably got something to do with my sister-in-law. She’s on disability, and she has medicare. She used to live with us years ago…and I mean like 6-7 years ago…when we had an apartment, but that was not only in another town but was in another county. For some reason we still receive hospital stuff for her, though, and sometimes junk mail from companies trying to sell her supplemental stuff. I can understand that, but I don’t understand how these people got my personal cell phone number and think I’m on medicare. I explained I’m not and to take me off their list, but they’ve called 3 more times today. Each time they’ve told me it can take up to 48 hours for my number to be removed from the system, so they keep calling back.

Honestly I think it’s one of those work at home things where the people get a list of numbers to call that day, and half the time 10 people have the same list. I know how that works because I did a short trial as a cold caller for one such medical company, and it only took me a couple weeks to realize it was something I definitely didn’t want to do. I got tired real quick of getting yelled at because I was the 4th or 5th person to call someone that day. Now that I think about it I do think it was one of those type companies because I definitely remember hearing something that sounded like a kid in the background of one of those calls.

Ya know I have no problem with a stay at home mom trying to make a little extra cash anyway she can. Honestly look at me. I do the same thing, and I’m not even a stay at home mom yet, but when it comes to the cold calling, don’t call me, especially on my cell phone.

I’m so ill with Paypal right now. My Paypal debit card expires in 8 days, and it looks like I’m not going to have my replacement card in time.

Back in February, on the 24th actually, I received the email from Paypal telling me they would be sending out my new card so that I would receive it before my old card expires. I was to give it 6 weeks to arrive, and if it didn’t show I should contact customer support. At the same time the reminder popped up on my “To Do List” inside Paypal to activate my new card. It’s been there since driving me nuts every time I login making me wonder where my new card is.

Two weeks ago on the six weeks mark I called Paypal customer service to inquire about my new card. I was told by someone who barely spoke enough English to deal with me that she didn’t understand why I received the email in February because my card had only been mailed out 4 weeks ago. She even accused me of “misreading the email date”. Ok I’m not exactly an idiot here. I know if the email arrived in my inbox in February or March.

Today yet again marks 6 weeks according to the customer service woman’s time frame, so I yet again called Paypal. I went through the whole spiel about my card not arriving, getting the email in February, offered to forward a copy of the email, explained my last phone conversation with customer service, and it got me no where.

I’ll give you 3 guess what the customer service guy said in broken English, and I’m sure you’ll get it right on the first try. “I’m sorry, mam, but you were misinformed. Your card was mailed out 2 weeks ago when you called, and you should be receiving it within the next 4 weeks.”

Seriously Paypal? Why do you have to make this so difficult? All I want is my replacement card so my hosting account isn’t put on hold temporarily when my card expires!

Someone else mentioned to me she had problems getting Paypal to issue her new card until she finally gave up and used the lost or stolen card option to get a replacement. I’m giving them until the end of the week then I think I’ll try that route.

This is seriously getting old! First Paypal supposedly randomly selected my account for a temporary hold while they checked things out last week, and I didn’t know about it until I attempted to purchase a rubber stamp. The “transaction cannot be completed” threw me off since my card wasn’t denied, so I called Paypal and was told I was randomly selected for an account hold and check…something I’ve never heard of them doing before. Now I’ve got to deal with this, too!

Trust me Paypal, I would totally ditch you if a majority of my customers as well as companies I work with had some other option to pay me.

This is just a quick note for those of you who asked me to let you know if I did happen to actually hear about any of the Redemption Days for Live It With Charter. I finally got my first email from Charter telling me their running Redemption Days for some tv show swag now through December 21st.

There are 2 pages of swag listed, but none of it is interesting to me at all. With my points all I can afford to pickup are a set of fake plastic lips from TV Guide or an Award Season 08 button from TV Guide. I think I’ll pass.

If you’re in the 12,000 point range you can pick up Mad Men Season 1 on Blu Ray or DVD or the Extras Season 1 DVD. There are a couple DVDs in the 28,000 points range, and that’s it.
