Watching Shopping

Now that I’m done with what little Christmas shopping I could afford to do this year I’ve been looking around online at gifts I wish I could afford to buy for everyone.  Hubby’s watch broke a few months back, so I’ve been checking out new ones for him.  I could get his old one fixed as it is a rather expensive watch, but he’s had it for about 10 years now, and it’s time for a new one.

I was looking at a few Suunto watches I thought he might like, and I’ve finally narrowed it down to one that I think he will absolutely love.  I know I can’t get it for him right now, but when finances allow it’ll have to be a Christmas, Birthday, and Anniversary gift all rolled into one.  The one I picked out is perfect for him because it’s got military look that he loves and all the features he’s looking for.  I love buying things for him because I love seeing the look on his face when he opens it.  This is definitely one gift I can’t wait to get him.

Not Quite Finished Shopping

It never fails.  Every year I think I’m finished with my Christmas shopping, and when I sit down to wrap presents I realize I’ve forgotten to get a gift for someone.  This year I forgot to get something for the person whose name I drew for my family, so tomorrow I’ll have to go out and search for christmas gifts under $20 for her. Other than that all my shopping is done.

Now I just have to finish wrapping everything.  I did half of the wrapping tonight, but I got bored half way through and decided to stop.  I’ll have plenty of time this week to wrap Ellie’s presents, so I hid them for now.  I know she’s only a year old, but her presents still won’t go under the tree until Christmas morning.  This year it’s less about Santa and more because she’ll rip them open as soon as she sees them.  The ones I wrapped got stacked on the bedroom dresser because I don’t feel like having to rewrap them either.

Plus knowing Ellie before she ripped them open she’d use them as step stools to pull ornaments off the tree that she can’t reach.  Last week I caught her pushing her Laugh and Learn Fun With Friends Musical Table over to the tree and climbing on it to pull more ornaments down.  Needless to say we moved it out of the room for now!

Thursday Thunks: Philosophy Edition

I promise I’m not trying to hide from my blogs, but this has been one very busy week due to all the pre-holiday stuff I have to get done.  I’m sure I’ll be even busier over the upcoming 2 weeks, so let me make sure I at least remember to do this week’s memes!

Thursday Thunks: Philosophy 101

The TT questions are brought to you by Bud, the color of a Mexican Umbrella Lady and the number 3693.

1. First, an easy one. In 25 words or less, what’s your philosophy on life?

Enjoy each day to the fullest because life is too short.

2. Which country is your spiritual home? Why?

The USA because this country was founded on the values that I believe in.

3. Tell us something about the oldest living member of your family. We mean as opposed to the oldest dead one.

My Great Grandmother is 94, and as feisty as ever.  She has a beautiful spirit and wisdom that I only hope I have if I’m lucky enough to make it to that age.

4. Tell us something about the youngest member of your family.

That would be my adorable nephew, Xander.  He’s 6 months old, and as cute as a button.

5. Now we’ll do random. Have you ever had a negative experience at a gym (with other patrons, equipment, trainer) or with the gym themselves?

Considering I’ve only set foot in a gym twice in my entire life (not counting the horrible school gym), no.

6. If you could go back and change one friendship in your past, who would it have been, and why?

I would go back and try to change my relationship with my best friend from school.  We were joined at the hip for years until our friendship ended abruptly during our senior year.  She stopped speaking to me completely and treated me like I no longer existed.  She never even said a word to me about what the issue was.  To this day I still don’t know.  We’ve spoken once in the last 10 years, and even then when I asked her what had happened she refused to tell me, and would only say that it was “high school stuff”.  If I did something that upset her so much that she wanted to end our friendship I would at least like to know what I could have done!

7. If you could wish a wish and it be guaranteed to come true (and not to get more wishes), what would it be, and why?

I would wish for financial stability because that is the one thing that is holding me back from achieving my lifelong goals.

8. What were you doing 1 year ago?

This time last year I was learning the ins and outs of being a new mother.

9. Time to belly up to the bar. What drink can I getcha?

A Midori Sour please!

10. What’s the furthest you’ve traveled to visit (or vacation with, etc.) a friend?

D.C.
