The good news is we’re not going to starve this month because I have found some extra work that will help keep us somewhat afloat. I picked up a couple writing opportunities that will give me an opportunity to expand my resume while putting food on the table. It’ll also keep me from having to spend a lot of time looking at life insurance ratings for term life because I won’t have to cash in my life insurance policy like I was afraid I might have to do.
The other good news is that Hubby got word today that the out of town job he applied for is most likely his. I say most likely because there was an issue on one of the job sites causing the main boss that makes the final hiring decision to have to leave before he could look over Hubby’s resume. Hubby was told that it’s almost a done deal, and he’ll most likely get the job. The only problem is he’ll be sent out on a new contract that’s starting up, so he could still have a couple more weeks of downtime after his hire before that job starts.
At least most of the news today was good news. My dad also has a couple of projects he’d been wanting Hubby to do for him, and a friend of ours is needing a new roof. Hubby is going to do all that this week, and that should keep our bills from falling behind too much.
I’m crossing my fingers that things keep going this well because at this point I can say I’m not freaking out anymore. In the past I wouldn’t freak out at all because if one of us lost a job it was always fairly easy for the other one to find one quickly. Things are majorly different now that we have the baby, and I have so many other things to factor in. I keep reminding myself that everything will be okay, though.
