I feel like it’s been forever since I posted, and in internet terms it has! I didn’t mean to disappear for almost 2 weeks, but the holidays have kept me extremely busy. I feel like I totally missed out on Christmas this year. I was so busy I didn’t get to enjoy it at all. Now it’s time to take a few days to slow down and reflect on what just happened over those 2 weeks.
We were constantly running from one function to another, and we spent the 23rd-27th constantly going. All that running resulted in seeing lots and lots of people, and that means lots and lots of presents for the baby. I’m very appreciative of all the presents she got, but I don’t know where I’m going to put all this stuff! I didn’t really expect my family to make a big deal out of her first Christmas since she’s only 2 months old, but they did it anyway.
Hubby and I got some nice presents, too. We bought each other big presents this year that we could both enjoy like his home theater system, and my netbook. We also got plenty of presents from both of our families. We got a new 3-in-1 griddle, waffle maker, and sandwich maker from my sis & her hubby to replace my George Foreman that was falling apart, and my Grandma gave me a new crockpot! I can never ever ever have too many crockpots, and I use them all the time.
A friend gave me a new electric blanket to snuggle up with and she gave Elliana some seriously cute stuffed animals. We got our usual bag of clothes from my Grandma. I look forward to that every year because Christmas is normally about the time of year I’m discovering how worn out my clothes are getting. Hubby also gave me an awesome pair of boots I’ve been eyeing for awhile, and my Mom gave me a new set of bedroom slippers that I don’t want to take off. They are the most comfy things I’ve ever had. My Mom also got us the toaster we’ve been wanting for awhile. Hubby’s ecstatic because it has a reheat toast button lol!
I could keep listing all the gifts we got, but we also got a lot of great food and great company. Isn’t that what the holidays are all about anyway? We got to spend time with people we only get to see once or twice a year, and we got to enjoy every minute of it even if we had to shove it all into a really short period of time.
