Making A List & Carving Pumpkins

I know if I don’t make myself a list today I’m never going to get anything accomplished.  My pregnancy brain fog is working in overload this morning.  I do have a ton of stuff I need to get done before Hubby gets home, but I’ve been procrastinating all morning.  Actually I guess you could say I’m not exactly procrastinating, but I’m getting sidetracked.  I’ll start on one thing and end up doing something else.

So today’s list:

  • Clean out refrigerator.
  • Vacuum my full size rug that’s going in the nursery.
  • Fix the stitching that unraveled on my kitchen curtain after one wash :( boo.
  • Scrub all the dust collecting shelves in the kitchen & dining room.
  • Wash all the knick knacks on said shelves.
  • Pull out the rest of the Halloween decor.
  • Throw away Hubby’s jack-o-lantern (it’s molding), and get him a new pumpkin to carve.
  • Organize the closet in the nursery.
  • Start reading diet pill reviews again in hopes they’ll motivate me to drop the baby weight faster.
  • Start moving summer clothes to storage, and pulling out the light weight cold weather stuff.
  • Pack my hospital bag (before I totally forget!).

We’ll see how much I do actually get accomplished.  I should at least find time to make it to the store for another pumpkin before Hubby comes home and finds out his is molding.  That would mostly be because I forgot to bring them inside the other night, and they got caught in a major downpour.  Once it starts molding there’s really nothing we can do, so I’ll just get him another one to carve.

This is the first year we decided to carve our pumpkins instead of just painting them or setting out whole ones for decorations.  I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that Hubby saw one of his BFF’s carving a killer pumpkin, so of course he had to compete lol.  He also decided he wanted to start a tradition of carving one with the baby every year.  We’ll see how long that actually lasts!  He was complaining his hands hurt too much 5 minutes into his first pumpkin!  He’s just a whiner since I did all the dirty work of cleaning the pumpkins out.  All he had to do was carve his image.  After he saw how they turned out he did ask if we could carve more next weekend, though, so we’ll definitely replace his moldy one.

Anywho, here’s how they turned out before his got all moldy.  Mine is, of course, the bulldog, and he carved the jack-o-lantern peeping through the blinds.  I don’t think they turned out too horribly bad for our first try.

Now I’ve spent long enough procrastinating yet again, and yep getting sidetracked yet again, so now I need to kick my butt into gear and get to work!
