Yeah I know I’m a slacker that hasn’t posted in what seems like forever, but that seems to be the routine these days. Currently I feel like absolute crap. Part of that is the ‘ole 3rd trimester rounding the bend, but most of it is the fact that I’m totally drained from the events of today.
I spent a majority of the afternoon sitting in the doctor’s office doing the glucose monitoring test thingy. I admit that stuff tastes good on the way down, but it’s nasty as all get out in reverse. Luckily I passed the test and won’t have to do it again…barely passed that is. The cutoff is 140, and after an hour I was right at 140. Whew…just flew by on that one.
I also had to get my first flu shot, and flu shots always make me feel like crap. I get really tired and ran down, and that’s probably why I feel like I should be passed out on the bed right now instead of sitting here blogging. Oh well. I have plenty of time to nap after I’m done here.
Anywho, now I have a dandy little prescription for Zantac to help me with the heartburn, and so the visit wasn’t all bad. I have another appointment on Wednesday for my Rhogan shot, and then I have to start my every 2 week appointments. I said start them? I’ve averaged an appointment every 2 weeks for the past couple of months, so I already feel like that’s been my routine. One this week, one next week, and then another one coming up on September 22…I’d say the doctor is getting to enjoy my presence an awful lot!
At least I know the next one will be September 22 because now I can schedule around that for our anniversary. We knew we wouldn’t be able to take a trip to the beach this year because of our financial situation, and I figured I’d be too pregnant to want to travel that far anyway. My aunt knows we’ve had to cancel a couple Gatlinburg vacations this year, so she offered (if I’m feeling up to it) to see if we can use her friend’s cabin up there for our anniversary weekend. With the cash that we normally get for anniversary gifts and a free place to stay I think we could wing that…and we’d be back in time for my appointment on the 22nd. We’ll just have to see how things go.
