Anniversary Gifts

Yep it’s still raining here for the most part.  We’re getting a slight break right now, but I doubt the porch will have enough time to dry before another shower rolls through.  All this rain has kept my mood quite blah over the last few days, but I’ve got to kick my butt in gear and get some planning done.

Sunday is our 6th anniversary, so I’ve got to come up with something for us to do.  I know we’ll go out for a nice dinner, but this year I have absolutely no clue where I want to go eat.  I totally don’t have a present for Hubby yet either.  He totally wants some video surveillance equipment for the back patio just so he can see his precious motorcycle. He’s using the excuse that it’ll be a great way to keep an eye on the baby, too, but I guess he doesn’t consider the fact that I’m not exactly going to be letting her run around outside by herself…especially not anytime within the next few years.

I may give in and get him a small little setup anyway as long as he agrees to put a camera facing the driveway as well. My lazy side thinks it’d be super awesome if I didn’t have to get up and look out the window every time someone pulls in the driveway. I could totally pretend I’m not home when an unwanted guest arrives! Most people call before they stop by anyway, but there’s always that one person that drops by unannounced.

Other than that I really have no idea what I could get him because he hasn’t really mentioned anything he wants.  I mentioned that I want DJ Hero Renegade Edition, but I won’t be getting that until October.  Then again we might as well save the $200 because once the baby gets here I’ll never have a chance to play it!

Thursday Thunks September 17

To play along don’t forget to visit the Thursday Thunks Meme!

1. My daughter (aka Demon #1) informed me the other day that her hugs were worth a million dollars. Would you give up hugs – giving and receiving – for the rest of your life, for a million dollars?

I don’t really think I could.  I’m not one of those hug a stranger kind of people, but I do enjoy my hugs.  No amount of money could take away how it’s going to feel the first time I get to hug my little girl.

2.Have you ever been bitten by a member of the canine family?

Yes I have, but never anything drastic.  I’ve been puppy nipped plenty of times, but I can’t say I’ve ever had a serious bite.

3. What is your favorite color of jeans?

blue lol.  Actually I prefer a dark wash.  There’s just something about a dark jean that makes my butt look great, and if I knew I could fit into them post pregnancy I’d order a pair of these!  Nevermind, they’re only available in a size 3, and even the best diet pills in the world wouldn’t get me into a pair of those!

4. What is something that has changed in public schools that you wish was the norm when you were in school?

Honestly I don’t think I can say I like anything about public schools these days.  My daughter is still in the womb, but I’m already contemplating home schooling.

5. What is your news source?

I definitely pick up most of my news from the internet.  I don’t spend a lot of time watching tv or reading the paper.  When I’m out and about most of my news comes to me via Twitter.

6. What sort of people do you think read your blog?

I know a few friends, family members, and co-workers do.  I guess whoever is bored enough to stumble along and find my blog reads it.

7. If I told you that I had a headache, you would say……….???

Have you taken anything for it?

Isn’t that what everyone normally says?

8. You go to a buffet style restaurant, what is the first food you put on your plate?

I’m definitely a salad first kinda girl, but I guess it also depends on what kind of buffet it is.

9. If you were stranded on a desert island…. no, we aren’t asking that again. Lets put a twist into this. Would you volunteer to be dropped off on a desert island, to be picked up in a month? And you don’t get to bring those 3 items, either.

That depends on who else is volunteering to be dropped off with me ;-) .

10. When the sun sets, what are you usually doing?

Lately I’ve been sitting on the porch swing with Hubby watching it set and enjoying these last few days of summer.

Rain Rain Go Away

Another 8-9 days of rain?  Geeze can we get a break already?  I really shouldn’t be complaining because we really haven’t had a lot of rain here lately, but a week and 1/2 straight can really start to get to a girl, ya know?

Mostly the rain just keeps me feeling like crap.  I know a lot of people say thank goodness for the rain because it washes away the crap that’s causing their allergies, but I’m the exact opposite.  When the rain shows up so does the sneezing, the itchy eyes, and the scratchy throat.  I cough, hack, and blow my nose almost constantly.

Throw that all together with the fact that today just started off on the wrong foot, and you’ve got yourself a me in a bad mood.  I haven’t heard from Hubby yet today, but I have a feeling he’s not doing much better.  We both woke up with a jolt this morning to the dog barking uncontrollably because my FIL was banging on the door.  It seems none of the 3 alarms we set last night managed to go off, and Hubby was running extremely late for work.

Thank goodness his dad rides to work with him or there’s no telling what time he would have woken up.  When Hubby’s day starts off on the wrong foot it sets the tone for everything else, so I’m sure he’ll come home in an even worse mood.

I think I need to sit back in my chair and take a virtual vacation for a few minutes.  I’ll close my eyes and daydream I’m strolling down Fort Walton beach far away from home without all this rain or a care in the world. Hey I need something to brighten this day up a bit, and the weather sure isn’t going to do it.
