This week has flown by a lot sooner than I expected. Then again it seems like the farther I progress into my pregnancy the quicker time moves. It seems like yesterday Hubby and I were groaning about the fact that our second ultrasound, and hopefully the day we find out the baby’s sex, was months away.
Where did the last 5 months go? Tomorrow is that all important day, and if the baby cooperates we will no longer be calling our little bundle of joy “Peanut” or “Munchkin”. If this child decides to be stubborn (considering the parents I know it’s got a stubborn streak) it will have to keep those nicknames for a few more months, but we really want to be able to give this little one it’s name.
If we find out it is a girl, like 99% of our family and friends expect, she will become Eliana Grace…El or Ella as a nickname. If our munchkin turns out to be our little man (Hubby’s crossing fingers and toes) he will most likely be known as Charles Aiden.
I say most likely because we’re still having issues with the boy’s name. We both agreed on Charles Aiden from the beginning, and I’ll admit I’m the one changing my mind. Being that I had to deal with the whole “Jennifer” thing growing up, I just don’t know if I want my child to have to go through the same most popular name deal. Do I want 20 other Aidens (or choose your spelling) in his kindergarten class?
We definitely know we will not be calling him Charles, Charlie, or any other variation of the first name. We are only choosing Charles because it is a family name passed down through every 3rd generation. We spent 2 hours last night crossing alternative names off the list…of course Hubby has nixed every other name I’ve decided on, but he’s not offering any other suggestions. He’s dead set on Aiden.
I don’t even know why I’m sweating it right now. The way I see it there’s at least a 50% chance we’re going to walk into that office tomorrow and discover a little baby girl floating around on that monitor, so I don’t need to stress myself out over a name that may never be used. If we do walk in there and discover a boy, or if we find the baby uncooperative, we’ll have another 4 months to decide.
