Why does my husband insist on calling me at 3pm to find out what I want for dinner tonight when he knows I’m the world’s worst person about picking where we’re going to eat?  At 3pm I have no clue what I’m going to want to eat at 7pm.  I’m kind of one of those people who just drives around until I find the least packed restaurant in the area, then we eat.  He knows this but he still insists on calling home every single day about this time to find out what I’m going to cook or where we’re going to eat.

Sigh.   I’d love to stay in and cook tonight, but we’re down to nothing.  We’ve been eating whatever we could slap together with what’s in the cabinet all week (except for the 2 nights we went for sushi), and now the cabinets are officially bare.  It looks like I’ll be making a trip to the grocery store this evening while we’re out and about.

We definitely have to go on the hunt for a dishwasher again since I found absolutely nothing I liked in my price range at Lowe’s.  I mean they had plenty of dishwashers I like, but they didn’t have any in stock in the color I need.  All my appliances including the stove top and the oven are black, so I’m not going to throw a white or stainless dishwasher into the mix (although I would be extremely happy if Hubby came home with a truck load of stainless appliances).  I found a Whirlpool Gold I really like, and if I can’t find something else I like in black elsewhere I’ll just have to wait for Lowe’s to order me the black one.  Ooh, I need to call the Easley and Anderson stores to see if either have a black one in stock.  I might just make the drive for that.

We’re going to check out the wholesale home store place in town this evening because they always have tons of stoves, dishwashers, and refrigerators for much cheaper.  Some of them are a little dinged up, but I’m willing to deal with a small ding if it saves me $100 or more on one I really like.  They’ve also got some porcelain tile for really cheap that I want to show Hubby. I’m hoping he’ll let me buy some of it to fill the space between the top of the counter and the mirror in the bathroom.

There is so much I want to do to this house while Hubby’s in the mood to get things done. Who knew all it took to get him to actually finish his projects was bringing a baby into the mix? If I’d known this we’d have done it sooner!
