I’ve been in the mood to take lots of photos today for some reason. I opened up the big blind behind the couch and found tons of Blue Jays hanging around the tree right in front of the porch. I figured I’d sit on the couch snapping photos out the window for awhile, but after about 4 photos the message popped up that my internal memory was full on my camera. No biggie, time to find my sd card.
I remembered I took it out this morning to offload the photos I took of Bubba curled up on the couch. I looked all around my pc, and I can’t find my card or my card reader. It looks like I’m going to have to drag my whole desk out to search behind and underneath it. When things fall behind this desk they drop into the dark abyss, and I can’t risk losing yet another sd card. I go through those things like hotcakes.

Today is going to be a very lazy day around here. Hubby’s home from work because it’s too cold for him to work outside. Bubba’s curled up on the couch sound asleep and snoring. I couldn’t even get him to go outside to pee this morning. He just gave me this are you crazy I’m not moving look and stuck his head back under the blanket. You know it’s cold when the dog won’t go outside.
It was really cold in most of the house when I woke up this morning. The fire died out in the middle of the night, but thankfully Hubby remembered to turn my little floor heater on in the bedroom before he attempted to go to work. He drove up the mountain, but his boss sent them right back home. He came home complaining that he shouldn’t have gotten out of bed, and I kind of feel the same way. His boss had already told him yesterday they weren’t working, so I think he should have called this morning to see before driving 45 minutes up the mountain.
It’s going to be even colder tonight, so we’re thinking about buying one of those heated mattress pads so if the fire goes out in the middle of the night we won’t freeze if one of us doesn’t wake up to turn the floor heater on in the bedroom. Of course if I break down and let Bubba in the bed he curls up under the blanket between us and radiates enough heat to sweat us all out. That might be the cheaper alternative! lol
On another note there’s now a 50% chance of snow showers for us Sunday! Most people would probably be like ugh snow, but yay! I might finally get to see snow this year! I can’t help it. I have to get excited because we normally get snow once a year, twice if we’re lucky.

I’m not very happy with my freezer right now. I think it might be time to invest in a small deep freezer to store all our frozen goods that we won’t eat within a week. A couple weeks ago I noticed everything in the freezer was starting to look freezer burnt, even the new stuff. I took all the stuff that was bad out and tossed it. I then took all the good stuff out of it’s store packaging and placed everything in freezer bags. I defrosted the freezer and checked to make sure it was on the highest setting (to prevent temperature fluctuation).
When we went shopping Saturday I put all the new stuff in freezer bags as soon as I got home, and then I double checked my freezer to make sure it was set on the highest setting.
Today I went to pull out some chicken to defrost for dinner tonight, and I noticed more freezer burn on not just stuff that was already in the freezer for a couple weeks, but on all the new food I put in there Saturday!
Ugh. I don’t know what to do. I called Hubby and he said something must be wrong with the freezer. I personally think we have too much stuff in there, and the air doesn’t have the room to circulate like it needs. I think we need to break down and invest in a small deep freezer so we can have the room to store everything because we tend to buy meat items in bulk.
