Out With The Band

I can’t tell you the last time I had as much fun as I had last night.  My father-in-law’s in a new band, and they had a last rehearsal/private show for family and friends before they play their first live gig in a couple weeks.

My FIL is an awesome drummer, and the band he was in forever broke up about 3 years ago.  I haven’t heard him play in over 2 years, so I made a point to be there last night.  I’m so glad I did!  The new band plays southern rock & blues, and they are awesome.  I can’t wait to hear them playing out.

I wanted to stay and enjoy more, but after 3 1/2 hours we left at 11:30pm.  I was so tired I just couldn’t hold my head up anymore.  I fell asleep on the way home, and I woke up long enough to pull my clothes off and throw my robe on.  I felt like total crap with way too much head congestion and cold chills, so I wrapped up in my robe with 4 blankets and passed out hard.  I woke up at 11am this morning sweating like crazy, but the head congestion and chills are still there.

Now I’ve got it 80 degrees in here, and I’m still wrapped up in 2 blankets and my robe with a floor heater next to me.  I’ve been steaming myself with a cup of Tangerine Cheesecake Herbal Tea, and trying to get rid of some of this head congestion.  The aches set in this morning, but I feel more cold like than flu-ish.  I’m not running a fever, and I’m sneezing like crazy.  Hopefully I can head it off before it gets too much worse.
