Stop The Junk
Everyone hates junk mail, and I rant all the time about it. I used to never receive junk mail at all in my main business email because I made sure I didn’t give it out to anyone other than clients. Unfortunately that’s not the case anymore. I delete hundreds of messages daily. Most of them aren’t even the scam emails anymore. They’re just questions.
Interested in San Diego business law? Need quality medication without a prescription? Need virus protection for an outrageous price?
It’s not that I don’t need San Diego business law services or medication. I just don’t need people flooding my inbox with info about them. Sometimes I wonder if these services even know how they are being advertised. Of course a lot of the companies aren’t choosing to advertise this way. The company is just being used without their knowledge to send out spoof emails asking for a ton of your information just so the sender can steal your identity. In that case I don’t blame the company. I blame the person trying to commit the crime.
At least I’m not stupid enough to fall for something like that. When I need these services I look normally look around the blogosphere, and I find what other people are talking about. Then I try the services based on what other people have to say about them.
My business email is the one account that I’ve tried to avoid having to change just because I have so many contacts, and it’s a crucial part of communicating with my customers. It looks like I might have to bite the bullet and change it though.
