Kitteh Crack

Welcome to The Ramblings of Jenn Shuey! If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

I swear my cat is on crack. He’s running around here all crazy making me wonder if I need to send him to drug rehab.

Lisa, can I borrow the “Hell On Four Paws” nickname for a few hours?

Normally Alley isn’t this wide open during the day. There’s the normal 6am Alley/Bubba play fight that happens on my bed. I banish them from the bed, and the fight continues for a few minutes in the dining room or kitchen. They eventually give up, and both go back to sleep…after Alley boxes Bubba in the mouth a few times.

Bubba has slept all day, but Alley is like that spring that’s been compressed so tight it must explode! He’s cutting laps around my bedroom right now.

Thanks Dude

Ya know I’ve gotten used to the 1 kid that goes through here every night around 10:30 with his music bumping. I think to myself about 6 or 7 years ago that was me. I know he’s got a part time job working for some lawyer (maybe even a truck accident lawyer) in the evenings, and he’s on his way home. He bumps, but it’s not so loud that things shake. It’s just loud enough for me to hear him go by.

What I don’t care for is the person who just came through here with their music so loud that it shook my house. My $470 motorcycle helmet was sitting neatly on it’s shelf waiting for the day it’s worn again. I turned around in time to see it roll off the shelf, drop about 6 ft, and smack the floor.

You know it’s gotta be a good vibration to cause my helmet to leap off the shelf. The helmet weighs about 3 lbs and sits flat.  I blast my music loud enough during the day time that the neighbors can hear it, but even that doesn’t shake my house hard enough to knock my helmet off it’s shelf!

What’s My Name Mean?

I saw Holly has been taking quizzes again, and I just had to join her. These things are like train wrecks ya’ll (yes I said ya’ll!). I want to run away from them as fast as I can, but I can’t help but take a few!

What Jennifer Means

You are fair, honest, and logical. You are a natural leader, and people respect you.
You never give up, and you will succeed… even if it takes you a hundred tries.
You are rational enough to see every part of a problem. You are great at giving other people advice.
You are friendly, charming, and warm. You get along with almost everyone.
You work hard not to rock the boat. Your easy going attitude brings people together.
At times, you can be a little flaky and irresponsible. But for the important things, you pull it together.
You are very intuitive and wise. You understand the world better than most people.
You also have a very active imagination. You often get carried away with your thoughts.
You are prone to a little paranoia and jealousy. You sometimes go overboard in interpreting signals.
You tend to be pretty tightly wound. It’s easy to get you excited… which can be a good or bad thing.
You have a lot of enthusiasm, but it fades rather quickly. You don’t stick with any one thing for very long.
You have the drive to accomplish a lot in a short amount of time. Your biggest problem is making sure you finish the projects you start.
You are loving, compassionate, and ruled by your feelings.
You are able to be a foundation for other people… but you still know how to have fun.
Sometimes your emotions weigh you down, but you generally feel free from them.
You are wild, crazy, and a huge rebel. You’re always up to something.
You have a ton of energy, and most people can’t handle you. You’re very intense.
You definitely are a handful, and you’re likely to get in trouble. But your kind of trouble is a lot of fun.

What’s Your Name’s Hidden Meaning?

Now I’m off to fix the blinds in the guest room. The cat finally found a set of blinds in this house he hasn’t fully destroyed yet!

Newer Is Not Always Better

Did you upgrade to Firefox 3 yesterday? I did, and I quickly reverted back. Why? Firefox 3 was just way too buggy for my tastes right now. To me it really didn’t seem like it was ready to be released. In fact Mozilla missed the 10am PST release because it wasn’t ready to be released yet!

When I first installed I had major problems. I had to go through multiple reboots and reinstalls before I could even get Firefox to load. Once I finally got it loading I had no internet connection. After 30 minutes of working with it I finally got my internet back only to have many other problems. The load times were tremendously slow…way too slow for my tastes. Of course none of my add-ons worked as is usual with any new release, so I was dealing with pop-ups and ads for things like Chicago travel while attempting to get just one or two websites to load.

You know newer is not always better. I prefer the older versions of tons of software, and I think I’ll be sticking with Firefox 2 for now. If you prefer older versions like I do maybe you should check out OldVersion.com. It’s my one stop when I need to download a ton of software for a new computer or I need to grab an older version of a certain program.
