A Medical Watch For Sis In Law

I’ve been wanting to buy my sister in law one of those medical id tags for awhile, but so far I haven’t found one I thought she’d wear. She already has a medical card she carries in her purse, but I’ve seen EMS show up too many times without even thinking to ask for the card. She’s a critical diabetic, and many many times I’ve gotten there only to find them treating her like she’s an underage patient because they didn’t even think to check her id for her age. Half the time they don’t even know she had a medical card telling what she’s allergic to and all that.

Now I think I might have found her some medical id jewelry that she might wear.  I really like a medical id watch that I found, and I know my sister in law can’t go anywhere without a watch.  I found a ton of them on jewelryelegance.com, but I think this is the one she would like the most.

Arkansas Mayor Released Shelter Dogs Into The Wild

I’m thinking Mayor James Valley of Helena-West Helena, AR may have a California wine club membership that he’s partaking in way too much. In my opinion this guy is insane! I’m completely shocked and appalled at how he sees fit to treat stray and rescued animals.

Apparently the local animal shelter in this town is in such a horrible state that it’s not fit to use to care for rescued animals. The Mayor doesn’t seem very fit to make decisions either. He’s so unwilling to put forth the effort or $50-60k to turn the shelter around, he had the shelter shut down. The locks were cut, and all dogs were released from the shelter.

In the beginning the shelter was moved to 4 temporary pens at the local sanitation department, but these pens were uncovered, and there were complaints that the animals weren’t being cared for. So, on Wednesday, June 11, after feeding and watering 10 dogs, the city street director released them into the National Forest.

Yes folks, he took these dogs out to the middle of no where and turned them out on their own to become strays again! If that isn’t bad enough, he turned them out in a National Forest! According to a spokeswoman for the National Forest,

“In the code, it is illegal to release animals, livestock or abandoned personal property on national forest land”

What kind of Mayor is this? Not only is he sending these animals off to most likely die, but he’s breaking federal laws to do so.

Now that the shelter isn’t open any longer, what happens to any new animals picked up? According to USA Today’s story,

If animal-control officers get a call now, “they’re going to pick the dog up and probably just take them to the other side of town,” Valley said. “And it’s going to be someone else’s problem. … or maybe they will take them to the forest.”

Kitteh Crack

I swear my cat is on crack. He’s running around here all crazy making me wonder if I need to send him to drug rehab.

Lisa, can I borrow the “Hell On Four Paws” nickname for a few hours?

Normally Alley isn’t this wide open during the day. There’s the normal 6am Alley/Bubba play fight that happens on my bed. I banish them from the bed, and the fight continues for a few minutes in the dining room or kitchen. They eventually give up, and both go back to sleep…after Alley boxes Bubba in the mouth a few times.

Bubba has slept all day, but Alley is like that spring that’s been compressed so tight it must explode! He’s cutting laps around my bedroom right now.
