I forgot to mention while we were at Home Depot I did look at a few different tv wall mounts. I’m really wanting one for the tv in the den since it takes up so much space in such a small room. Hubby promised to build me a wall mount corner shelf to hold it, but I’m tired of him promising to build me stuff without delivering.

I swear he’s promised to build me so much stuff, and I never see it. My desk he started building 3 years ago is still only half finished. The waynes coating he promised in the bathroom? The wood is cut, stained, and still sitting on the back porch in the exact spot he stacked it months ago.

Oh, and then there’s the piece of plexiglass he promised to cut to cover my awesome photo canvas I got a year ago. The full sheet of plexiglass is still under my bed waiting for him to cut it to size. Yeah, I gave up on the wall shelves he promised years ago.

I think the wall mount for the tv is something I’ll actually be buying as soon as I have the extra cash for it. Can you tell I’m tired of waiting?

Hubby and I had planned to go see a movie tonight. We’re not big on movie theaters, but we’ve decided to start going to the theater once again for certain movies we want to see. Hubby has been wanting to see The Love Guru and Wanted, so I told him to pick one and we’d go see it tonight.

He finally chose Wanted even though I was hoping he’d pick The Love Guru as I was in a comedy mood, but he didn’t want to go to the 7:15 show. We decided to go shopping while we waited for the 9:45 show, but we never actually ended up making it to the movie.

Hubby hit up Home Depot to pick up a few things he’s been needing for work, and I walked around bored for an hour pretending to look at bathroom fixtures while he drooled over the typical “man stuff”. By 9 he was already complaining he was tired and didn’t feel like going to the movie, so we went home.

I swear I feel so old sometimes. 5 years ago we were never in before 3am on a Saturday night. Now it’s all I can do to drag him off the couch and out the door past 9.

It looks like Grandma’s apartment is almost empty. I’ve got a stack of moving boxes I’ll take over there tomorrow to help load up any of the smaller items that are left, and we have to move the mattresses.

We’ve been given the mattresses if we want them since they fit our bed, and they’re only 2 years old. At first Hubby said no he didn’t want them because he wants a memory foam mattress. Then he decided our mattresses are so old we will take them. We can use them until we get our memory foam, then we can get a bed for the guest room without having to buy mattresses for it. All we have in there right now is a daybed that’s practically falling apart.

I know my mother in law will be glad when all this is over.  It’s tough having to do most of the work by herself only because her sisters are morons who don’t give a flying floop about their own mom.

I went to the tax office yesterday to pay taxes on the bike and Blazer. Bike taxes are due at the end of this week, and I’ve been trying to get Hubby to pay them all month. We can’t pay them online here, and I hate mailing them in. I’ve mailed them in 3 weeks in advance before only to find out my payment still wasn’t received.

Since the taxes on the Blazer came in a few days ago I decided to go ahead and pay them both in one trip. Normally we have to go to the tax office, pay, get a receipt, take the receipt to the DMV, and pick up our registration and stickers. Thank God they changed that this year. I payed the taxes and received my stickers at the tax office. It’s nice because the tax office is in Walhalla. The DMV is 20 minutes away in Seneca, and then we all know how horrible it normally is hitting up the DMV.

They gave me the sticker for the bike tag, but I didn’t get stickers for the Blazer tag because I found out we’re in the first group to get one of the new tags. It’ll be mailed to us in 10-15 days. I understand we’ve had the old design forever, but I’m not sure I like the new one.

SC wants to be like everybody else now, so we’ve got to have a web address slapped across the bottom of our tags.

Hubby doesn’t like it at all, not because he doesn’t think it looks good, but because he’s got to give up his old tag. He’s transfered the same license plate to every single car he’s owned since he got his first car. He knows his tag number upside down and backwards, and we ended up with one of those that actually spells something out. He’s paid taxes and kept insurance on cars he wasn’t even driving before just to keep his old tag valid for the last 10 years, but I guess it’s time he finally parts with it.

He was whining around yesterday telling me it feels like they’re taking away a part of his past. I said it’s just a license plate! Come on! I honestly think he’s whining because he knows if he whines long enough I’ll feel sorry for him and buy him something nice like one of those luxury watches to shut him up. Not happening this time buddy!

He does want a personalized tag for the bike, so maybe I can get him to go that route instead. Having his own personalized tag would make him feel better, and he can finally have what he wants. We’ve put off getting the personalized tag just because I didn’t feel like paying extra for it.
