240x180Do you have a favorite pair of jeans you’ve had forever? If you do you could submit your story to the Dockers contest. All you have to do is create a video about your favorite pair of jeans and submit it to the Dockers TV Commercial Contest.

I have 1 pair of jeans that I think have had about enough of me. They’ve been with me for about 10 years now, and I’ve patched holes in them many many times. People ask me why I don’t just throw them away, and I say these pants are just now getting worn in! Why would I do that?

Not only are they the most comfortable pair of jeans I own, but they still fit after all these years. That amazes me because my weight has fluctuated up and down over the last 10 years, and I definitely don’t have that same body I had as a 16 year old who bought the jeans on a shopping trip to Commerce. I have hips now. I had nothing then, yet by some miracle my favorite pair of jeans still fits me right in all the right places.

That pair of jeans has been through so much with me. They walked with me through fragile teenage years when I was learning who I was. They’ve been to probably one too many parties, suffered through spills from plenty of drinking games I shouldn’t have been playing, and they helped me discover how nice it felt to dress up for attention from the boys.

They earned holes in the knees from crawling over barbed wire fences sneaking through the pasture cow tipping in the middle of the night or going night fishing.

They moved in with me at college, were borrowed by my roommates, and received their first patch on the right pocket when my roommate accidentally burned a hole in them. The cute little flower patch she used to repair the hole is still on the pocket today.

These days they’re worn out, but I love those jeans. I’ll choose to wear them over any other pair. A day in the life of my favorite pair of jeans could be a day lounging around the house or out partying somewhere. Those jeans go with me when I’m going to my favorite restaurant to gorge myself because they’re worn so thin they stretch!

So what story do your jeans have? Go enter the Dockers contest so you can tell me all about it!

i-just-saved-a-bunch-of-money-on

I have a love and hate relationship with Ebay. By that I mean there are some aspects of it I love while there are others I hate. There are some things that I’ll buy in a heartbeat while there are other things from Ebay I wouldn’t touch with a 10 foot pole. With that said, I’ve been using Ebay for years. I know how it works.

I know what types of scams are out there, how to avoid most of them, and I also know there’s always a chance of getting ripped off. I know I’d much rather have the option of recovering half the money I spent on something because I did go through Ebay instead of losing everything because I bought a non-existent product from somewhere like Craigslist.

With that said, one of the things I do shop for on Ebay are car parts and motorcycle parts. I’ve got favorite stores and sellers that I frequent often, especially when I need something for the bike. After my cousin basically trashed our bike last week, I had to go on a hunt for parts. As always I made a list of what I need, a list of prices from various dealerships, then I headed to Ebay to try to find a better deal.

I hit the jackpot on some of the parts I need in one of my favorite seller’s stores. I ended up dropping about $600, and I knocked half the stuff off my list. $600 might seem like a lot of cash, but it’s really not to me when the price to order those same parts brand new from the dealership is right around $1500.

It doesn’t matter that I saved a shit load of money. My mom is still going to bitch at me because there’s that chance I could get ripped off. Mind you my mom has probably used a computer for a combined total of 1 hour of her life, and that was when I tried to teach her how to log on to our old dial up account and check her email years ago.

In this case I guess I’m damned if I do and damned if I don’t. She bitches that I spend way too much money on the one thing that really makes hubby and I both happy, yet she bitches that we spend way too much in gas money for hubby to drive to work everyday 45 min away. Duh, the bike cuts our gas drastically. Every time I walk in her house she takes me around showing me 30 things she just bought at Goodwill, yet if I buy something off Ebay she bitches because she doesn’t understand it.

I guess I’ve come to the conclusion I’m not telling her anymore. When I want to gloat to someone because I just saved a ton of cash I’ll call someone else!

jumping-over-the-hurdle

I’ve felt kind of down and out lately. I’ve found myself in a rut that I just can’t seem to bring myself out of. I think a lot of it has to do with some of the things that have been happening in my life. We all go through those times when we feel like we’re on top, then the bottom just drops out. We all get through them though.

For me this rut isn’t so big this time, but it’s still causing a hurdle that I just can’t seem to jump over.

When you go through times like that, how do you bring yourself back up to the top?

I just walked in the door tonight, and I realized I’ve spent so much more time away from home lately than I have in awhile.  Normally I’m a homebody.  I hate going out, and I just like the comfort of being in “my place”.  Lately though, I’ve wanted to go out to do this, do that, eat here, hang out there.  It’s like I spent so much time at home that now I’m just itching to get out.

I guess we all go through phases like that though.  Sometimes we just want to sit at home chilling while other times we want to be out and about surrounded by people and enjoying a different atmosphere.

What kind of person are you?  Do you spend more time at home or away?
