Cracking Down On My Pepsi Points

I really need to start saving my Pepsi Stuff points. Seriously we go through at least two 2 liter bottles in this house a day, and more often than not it’s Wild Cherry Pepsi. The only time it’s not Pepsi is when I luck up and get Cheerwine at a good price (yep total southern love there baby) or hubby grabs Dr. Pepper because they were out of Wild Cherry Pepsi.

I already know I’m horrible when it comes to saving things like points on drink caps, so this time I had devised a plan. I bought a little notebook, and I had planned to write down the code every time I opened a new bottle. Then when I had 10 or 15 codes to enter I would knock them all out at once.

That didn’t work. I completely forget to write down my codes, and by the time I remember the bottle is already gone. Bubba loves bottles, so he chases them around the house until he flattens them. The caps go to Alley because he’s the weirdest cat I’ve ever seen. The only thing he’ll play with are bottle caps. He’s got a whole basket of them, and he bats them around the house. Yes I do know what it feels like to step on a bottle cap in the middle of the night while feeling my way to the bathroom!

Anyway I went through Alley’s basket of caps this afternoon, and I was able to dig out 13 points. I had another cap laying on my desk, 3 written in my notebook yet to be entered, and another 2 liter in the fridge. 1 more point and I’ll have myself 4 free mp3 downloads.

I know these little points programs companies use are marketing programs to turn people onto their product, and I know that a lot of people will even change their beverage of choice just to get the prizes. I’m not one of those people. You won’t see me going out to buy a ton of coke products because coke has points, but the Pepsi stuff I can do.  There’s no telling how many points I’ve thrown away because I just didn’t take the time to grab the code.  *imagines all those extra mp3s I could have right now*

Ah, the old “stepping on a bottle cap while feeling one’s way to the bathroom”.

You know what’s worse, though? Stepping on a grape. That is gross and a little scary.

Good luck with your Pepsi challenge. (Is there a difference between Wild Cherry Pepsi and Dr Pepper? I’ve never had the former…)

I’ll try to watch out for the grapes as well. Eww squishy between the toes. Gross!

There’s a big difference between Wild Cherry Pepsi and Dr Pepper in my book. Dr Pepper has way more carbonation, and it tends to give me heartburn. Wild Cherry Pepsi has more of a Pepsi taste, less cherry, but I prefer it because it’s less carbonated.

Then again I’m a Cheerwine girl above all. You just can’t always find it in every store around here.

I have a cute wicker basket with a cloth liner sitting on top of the fridge (sometimes its just on the counter top), and when I was collecting the Pepsi Points, or boxtops for nieces and nephew, I would toss them all in the basket.
When basket was full I would enter my points & stick the boxtops in an envie and drop it in my pocketbook to take to the kid’s for their school
